Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings for custom mechanical components. This remote contract role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet production requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components using FreeCAD.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and improve production processes.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs and engineering change orders.

Required profile

• Proficiency in FreeCAD for parametric modeling and drafting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with GD&T and ISO standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with sheet metal design, machining, and assembly processes.
