Senior Account Officer – Finance & Accounts

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Account Officer to manage and review general ledger accounts, prepare accurate financial statements, and support budgeting and cash‑flow analysis. The role involves supervising junior staff and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and review general ledger accounts and accounting records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cash‑flow statements, and financial reports.
• Perform monthly closing activities and ensure accurate account balances.
• Reconcile bank, customer, supplier, and inter‑company accounts.
• Review invoices, payments, receipts, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with tax calculations, tax returns, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with external/internal auditors and provide required schedules and documents.
• Monitor expenses and identify accounting discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting procedures.
• Support management with financial analysis and decision‑making reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
• Good understanding of taxation and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting/ERP software.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple accounting tasks.
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
