Senior Accountant – Remote

About the role

UpCounting is seeking a Senior Accountant to support eCommerce founders with accurate, reliable financial reporting. This fully remote position offers the chance to work with a global, tech‑forward team that values autonomy and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle bookkeeping for multiple client portfolios, including reconciliations, A/P, A/R, and journal entries.
• Month‑end and year‑end close activities: preparing schedules, tying out balance sheets, and delivering error‑free reports.
• Processing payroll entries, prepaids, and accruals consistently.
• Managing sales tax filings, remittances, and compliance across jurisdictions.
• Identifying automation opportunities and recommending workflow enhancements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a firm or multi‑client environment.
• Strong English communication and documentation abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable, and self‑sufficient with a proactive ownership mindset.

Required skills

• High proficiency in QuickBooks Online (certification a plus).
• ACCA accreditation or equivalent (or in progress).
