Senior Registrar Prosthodontics

About the role

The Senior Registrar Prosthodontics will deliver comprehensive prosthodontic care within a teaching hospital environment, supporting consultants and supervising dental students. The role combines clinical service, patient management, academic participation, and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide fixed, removable and other prosthodontic procedures following approved protocols.
• Conduct patient examinations, assist in diagnosis and develop treatment plans under consultant supervision.
• Supervise undergraduate dental students during prosthodontic clinical sessions.
• Coordinate with dental laboratories for impressions, casts, prostheses and appliances.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment plans and follow‑up documentation.
• Ensure strict infection control, sterilisation and waste‑management compliance.
• Manage dental emergencies and refer complex cases to consultants.
• Participate in departmental seminars, case discussions, research projects and clinical audits.

Required profile

• BDS or equivalent dental qualification from a PM&DC‑recognised institution.
• FCPS, MDS or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Prosthodontics recognised by PM&DC.
• Valid PM&DC registration and licence to practice.
• Ability to work under consultant supervision and guide junior staff.
