Senior/Principal Systems Engineer - Enterprise AI

About the role

A client of Flatgigs is hiring a highly technical Systems Engineer (Design & Implementation) for its R&D and solutioning hub in Pakistan. The role suits someone who moves fluently between systems thinking, high-level architecture and hands-on software engineering, designing and building scalable, enterprise-grade AI systems, SDKs, frameworks, reference architectures and solution templates. It is not about isolated features but about complete systems built around business requirements, performance, user volume, integration constraints, tenancy models, security and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the high-level design of scalable, secure and maintainable enterprise systems, including reference architectures, system diagrams and design decision records
• Design systems for 1,000+ users, evaluating trade-offs across performance, cost, maintainability, security and delivery speed
• Build enterprise AI solutions combining models, SDKs, RAG, MCPs, APIs, data platforms and existing systems, working with AI, ML, product and platform teams
• Stay hands-on: write backend services, APIs, libraries, SDKs and tools, prototype concepts, review code and diagnose bottlenecks
• Design multi-tenant architectures with tenant isolation, access control and resource management, and scale horizontally and vertically
• Lead technical discussions, communicate architecture to stakeholders and turn prototypes and PoCs into production systems

Required profile

• Proven experience in systems engineering, software architecture, platform engineering or backend engineering
• At least five enterprise-grade solutions delivered, each supporting or designed to support 1,000+ users
• Experience building scalable, distributed or service-oriented systems and multi-tenant platforms or enterprise SaaS products
• Ability to integrate multiple applications and platforms into a unified solution and to turn prototypes into production systems
