Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The company develops web and mobile products for clients across multiple industries, including custom business applications, SaaS platforms, and e‑commerce solutions. The SQA Engineer will ensure the quality of these applications through comprehensive manual testing and basic automation support.

Key responsibilities

• Review product requirements, user stories and design specs to identify test scenarios early.
• Write, maintain and execute test plans, test cases and checklists for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, UI and cross‑browser/device testing on each release.
• Test REST APIs using Postman, validate responses, status codes and data integrity.
• Log, prioritize and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps and screenshots.
• Retest fixed defects and verify that fixes do not introduce new issues before release sign‑off.
• Run basic SQL queries to validate backend data and support root‑cause analysis.
• Contribute to building and maintaining basic automated test scripts as automation coverage expands.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC and defect life‑cycle.
• Experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Ability to write well‑structured test cases and detailed bug reports.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and good written and verbal English communication.

Required skills

• API testing with Postman (or similar tools).
• Bug‑tracking and project‑management tools such as Jira.
• Basic SQL for data validation.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) – a plus.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) – a plus.
