Accountant – Canadian Tax & Accounting

About the role

Bestax is seeking an Accountant based in Lahore to support its Canadian clients with tax compliance, bookkeeping and financial reporting. The role combines preparation of corporate and personal tax returns with day‑to‑day accounting tasks using leading software tools.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) Canadian tax returns.
• Assist with GST/HST, payroll tax filings and other routine submissions.
• Support basic tax planning to minimise client liabilities.
• Stay updated on Canadian tax legislation and CRA regulations.
• Review financial data to ensure accurate tax calculations.
• Handle tax notices and communicate with authorities when required.
• Maintain bookkeeping records and generate financial reports.
• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero and CaseWare.
• Coordinate with the team to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations and compliance.
• Experience filing T1, T2, GST/HST and payroll taxes.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare or TaxCycle.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
