Accountant - FMCG Retail & Restaurant

About the role

The FMCG Accountant will manage daily financial operations for retail outlets and restaurant branches, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all transactions. This position works closely with branch managers, cashiers, and store in‑charge staff to maintain financial integrity and support cost‑control initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Record all daily financial transactions and perform accurate data entry.
• Reconcile sales by comparing POS data with cash, card, and online receipts.
• Monitor and document petty cash, operational expenses, and ensure timely cash deposits.
• Coordinate with store management for stock consumption reports and assist in monthly inventory counts.
• Track food‑cost percentages, report variances, and prepare weekly/monthly expense summaries.
• Support senior accounting staff during month‑end closing and handle bank dealings and fund transfers.
• Process salary disbursements and manage cash flow for smooth branch operations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hotel, or FMCG retail.
• Detail‑oriented with high integrity and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with POS and accounting software.
• Hands‑on experience with inventory and food‑cost control.
