Actuarial Services Manager

About the role

SHMA, a leading actuarial consulting firm in Pakistan, is seeking an experienced Actuarial Services Manager to lead multiple projects, ensure compliance with actuarial standards, and drive team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong business sense and control over multiple projects.
• Maintain an end‑to‑end understanding of project direction.
• Prepare innovative deliverables and documentation, and conduct thorough reviews.
• Ensure work complies with actuarial standards, local laws, regulations, accounting standards and firm best practices.
• Assist senior managers in managing multiple projects and communicating with clients and teams.
• Coordinate work effectively with stakeholders, clients, team members and senior management.
• Foster a positive working environment and provide effective team leadership.
• Maintain relationships with support functions and manage team requirements such as leave and attendance.
• Support seniors with operational client matters, including contract and proposal preparation.
• Assist in team management activities such as hiring and resource allocation.
• Lead firm‑wide improvement initiatives, including automation and internal administration projects.

Required profile

• University degree in mathematics, actuarial science, economics, finance or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
• ASA qualification from any actuarial body.
• 6–7 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance or actuarial consulting.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership of multiple projects and client engagements.
• Proficiency with standard actuarial models and techniques.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to grow within the firm and assume leadership responsibilities.
