Aerospace Design & Analysis Engineer – UAV Structural & Aerodynamics

About the role

DSS Aerospace is seeking an Aerospace Design & Analysis Engineer to lead the structural and aerodynamic development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms. You will work from conceptual sizing through detailed validation, ensuring compliance with defense manufacturing standards and NATO airworthiness requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform UAV conceptual and detailed sizing based on mission requirements and performance targets.
• Develop internal structural layouts and size airframe components.
• Conduct CFD analysis to evaluate aerodynamic performance, drag, and flow behavior.
• Run FEA to assess structural strength, stress distribution, and fatigue.
• Carry out basic static and dynamic stability analyses to support flight performance validation.
• Ensure all designs and analyses meet MIL‑STD and NATO (STANAG) standards.
• Prepare detailed design reports, analysis documentation, and technical specifications.
• Participate in cross‑functional design reviews and collaborate with structural, avionics, and manufacturing teams.
• Recommend design improvements based on analysis results and testing feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• At least 2 years of UAV or aerospace design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency with ANSYS (Fluent, CFX, Static Structural, ACP), Flow5, and MATLAB.
• Working knowledge of MIL‑STD and NATO (STANAG) standards.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, structural mechanics, and UAV design principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and technical documentation skills.
