AI Engineer

About the role

CodeNinja is seeking a hands‑on AI Engineer to design, develop, and operate AI‑powered software systems that deliver real‑world value. This position sits at the intersection of software engineering, product development, and applied AI, focusing on practical implementation rather than research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and run production‑grade systems that embed AI as a core capability.
• Develop and integrate agentic systems that autonomously select tools, manage context, and execute multi‑step tasks.
• Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent mechanisms for context, tool, and memory management.
• Apply AI through prompting, orchestration, model composition, evaluation, and deployment with a focus on runtime behavior.
• Use AI‑assisted coding, autonomous engineering agents, AI‑driven test generation, and AI‑enabled documentation in daily work.
• Collaborate with product, scrum, and engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end AI‑powered features.
• Own quality, reliability, security, and compliance of AI‑enabled systems, including monitoring for hallucinations and regressions.
• Stay current on AI tools, models, and agentic patterns and experiment responsibly with new capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building and operating production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with real agentic AI systems and Model Context Protocol or similar approaches.
• Solid understanding of AI model characteristics, trade‑offs, and integration with APIs and data sources.
• Proven ability to take AI systems from prototype to production, addressing scaling, latency, cost, and safety concerns.

Required skills

• Agentic AI system development and tool‑selection automation.
• Integration of AI models (open‑source and commercial) with real‑world services and APIs.
