AI Engineer (PhD Required)

About the role

Pixalate is seeking a PhD‑level AI Engineer to bridge cutting‑edge AI research and production systems that protect the digital ecosystem. This remote position focuses on agentic AI, advanced reasoning, and multimodal analysis to combat fraud and security threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement multi‑agent architectures for autonomous fraud detection using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, or custom solutions.
• Develop state‑of‑the‑art reasoning systems, optimize test‑time compute, and create verification mechanisms for high‑stakes decisions.
• Build advanced multimodal models for video, image, text, and behavioral data, including retrieval‑augmented generation and vector database solutions.
• Research novel approaches to agent safety, alignment, and scaling of reasoning capabilities in production environments.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, or an exceptional research track record.
• Published work in large language models, agentic AI, multimodal learning, or distributed ML systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop novel algorithms and conduct large‑scale experimentation.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch (preferred) and TensorFlow.
• Modern AI tools: LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, Ray.
• Experience with agent development, RAG systems, vector databases, and distributed training.
• Proficiency with MLOps and experiment tracking tools such as Weights & Biases, MLflow, TensorBoard.
• Strong understanding of transformer architectures, reinforcement learning, neural architecture search, and AutoML.
