Application Support Engineer

About the role

The Application Support Engineer ensures the availability, stability, and performance of mission‑critical business applications. You will monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless service to end users.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor application health, availability, and performance using enterprise tools and conduct proactive checks.
• Provide first‑, second‑, and third‑level support, meeting defined SLAs.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents; perform root‑cause analysis and document findings.
• Support production deployments, validate functionality post‑release, and assist with disaster‑recovery activities.
• Respond to user queries, conduct functional and technical support, and assist with user‑acceptance testing.
• Analyze logs and performance metrics, generate operational reports, and track SLA compliance.
• Maintain knowledge‑base articles, SOPs, runbooks, and documentation of known errors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 1‑3 years of application support experience (L1 Support Engineer level).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a 24x7 support environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• SQL and database troubleshooting (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Unix/Linux command‑line proficiency.
• API troubleshooting using Postman, Swagger, REST APIs.
• Log analysis and debugging.
• Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
• Understanding of middleware, web servers, and application servers.
