Architectural Draughtsman / CAD Technician

About the role

Nopex Services provides architectural design, CAD drafting, BIM/Revit modelling, structural and MEP engineering support, and shop drawing services to construction clients in the United States and other international markets. It is looking for skilled architectural draftsmen to prepare accurate drawings, interpret construction plans and support its design team on US-based projects. The position is full-time and Pakistan-based.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details and construction documents.
• Develop and revise drawings according to markups, sketches, redlines and instructions from the Senior Architect.
• Help prepare architectural permit drawing sets and construction documentation for US projects.
• Convert PDF drawings, sketches and existing plans into accurate CAD drawings.
• Prepare door and window schedules, reflected ceiling plans, dimension plans and other architectural details.
• Follow project specifications, drawing standards and applicable US building-code requirements.
• Coordinate drawings with structural and MEP disciplines to find and resolve conflicts.
• Incorporate client comments and complete revisions within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain organised drawing files, sheet numbering, dimensions, annotations, layers and title blocks.
• Support the Senior Architect in meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Diploma, associate degree or bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, architectural technology or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional architectural drafting experience preferred; 2-3 years preferred overall.
• Working knowledge of US architectural drawings and construction documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections and construction details, and understand dimensions, scales, annotations and drawing conventions.
• Good attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines and manage revisions.
• Basic to good English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Revit proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Preferred: experience on US residential and commercial projects, permit drawings and construction document packages, knowledge of IBC, IRC and accessibility requirements, and experience with Revit families, sheets, schedules and BIM workflows.
