Artificial Intelligence Developer Intern

About the role

The organization is looking for a driven Artificial Intelligence Developer intern to help build, optimize and deploy AI solutions across local and edge environments. You will work with open-source and open-weight models, custom-train architectures for specific tasks and tackle the challenge of running lightweight AI models on resource-constrained edge devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and train machine learning models, running custom training and fine-tuning pipelines with modern open-source datasets and frameworks.
• Work with open-source and open-weight models (e.g. Llama, Mistral, Whisper, Flux, Stable Diffusion) to solve real-world problems.
• Quantize, optimize and deploy lightweight models on client-side and edge platforms using frameworks such as Transformers.js, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT or WebGPU.
• Apply optimization techniques such as pruning, INT8/INT4 quantization, distillation and compilation to reduce memory footprint and latency while keeping accuracy.
• Partner with backend and hardware engineers to embed models into end-user applications and hardware pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning principles.
• Practical experience exploring, fine-tuning and evaluating models from Hugging Face and other open-source repositories.
• Familiarity with edge runtime environments; hardware knowledge (GPU, NPU, microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, WebGPU) is preferable.
• Proficiency in Python, and working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or C++ for edge execution environments.
