Assistant HR Manager - Higher Education

About the role

HITEC University Taxila is seeking a proactive and dynamic Assistant Registrar - HR to lead and support its human resource functions. The role covers recruitment, induction, onboarding, exit procedures, policy management, employee relations and performance evaluation, helping to build a high-performance academic environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, induction, onboarding and exit processes for faculty and administrative staff
• Develop, maintain and improve HR policies, procedures and systems in line with institutional goals and legal requirements
• Oversee employee relations, ensuring constructive communication, timely conflict resolution and a supportive work environment
• Administer attendance tracking, leave management and compliance with university attendance policies
• Lead performance management, including goal setting, evaluations and feedback
• Coordinate training and development initiatives
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, Higher Education Commission rules and university policies
• Provide HR advice and support to faculties and administrative units
• Supervise and mentor a team of five HR professionals
• Maintain accurate HR records, generate reports and support compliance audits
• Collaborate with senior management on HR strategy and promote a positive culture through engagement and recognition programs

Required profile

• First-class Masters degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management or a related field
• Professional CHRP certification
• At least three years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education or a similar setting
