Assistant Manager - Core Facility Management

About the role

The Assistant Manager Core Facility Management oversees the management of nationwide data center facilities, ensuring all systems run at optimal performance and meet defined performance standards. The role supports and guides the regional facility management team so they can handle day-to-day data center operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets to streamline and optimize data center operations, and take ownership of OPEX and CAPEX planning and governance.
• Initiate and renew service support agreements for critical power infrastructure, ensuring OEM Level-2 support is available.
• Develop business cases through to contracting for phased-out power and environmental systems to maintain data center stability.
• Conduct root cause analysis of major outages and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Perform quarterly self-inspections of data centers in line with CMCC guidelines, including risk assessments and mitigation plans.
• Optimize inventory utilization and forecast future requirements based on installed base, consumption trends and fault rates.
• Identify and implement solutions that reduce operational costs and maximize infrastructure utilization.
• Lead and support audit activities to ensure compliance with standards, regulations and best practices.
• Maintain and enhance the knowledge base (policies and procedures) and drive automation to improve efficiency.
• Stay aligned with emerging technologies while balancing cost, performance and reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering or another relevant field.
• Preferred: up to 4-6 years of experience managing data center and operations in a lead role or equivalent.
• Data center certifications such as ATD, CTDC, CDCE, CDFOM or CDCS are a plus.

Required skills

• Well versed in ANSI TIA 942 and ASHRAE guidelines.
• Knowledge of the operational philosophy of critical data centre facilities.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and critical incidents.
• Strong communication with internal teams, senior management and external vendors.
