Assistant Manager – Electrical Operations (Outreach)

About the role

The Aga Khan University is seeking an Assistant Manager (Electrical) to oversee the operation and maintenance of high‑tension (HT) and low‑tension (LT) electrical networks across its Outreach facilities in Pakistan. The role ensures reliable power supply, safety compliance and timely response to planned and emergency maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate preventive, corrective and emergency electrical maintenance for all Outreach sites, including phlebotomy centres, labs, medical centres, pharmacies, secondary hospitals and call‑centre offices.
• Supervise technical staff and external contractors, ensuring work is completed within agreed response times and schedules.
• Maintain liaison with local electricity providers to facilitate network connections and fault resolution.
• Conduct inspections, document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with university policies, JCIA, ISO 9001, ISO 2015 and SafeCare standards.
• Perform technical appraisal of new electrical equipment and oversee its installation.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience in managing electrical systems in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong understanding of HT/LT networks, instrumentation and safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, contractors and stakeholders.
