Automation Engineer – Industrial Control Systems

About the role

Watt N Volt is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its growing automation division. You will work on designing, developing and commissioning machine and process automation solutions for a range of industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and commission machine automation and process automation systems.
• Program PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley or similar) and configure HMI/SCADA interfaces.
• Develop and deploy Energy Monitoring Systems for industrial customers.
• Read and produce electrical schematics and control panel wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate with panel manufacturing and installation teams on‑site.
• Troubleshoot faults and optimise running automation systems.
• Support international project exhibitions and technical presentations when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation or control systems.
• Strong PLC programming skills and experience with SCADA/HMI platforms.
• Ability to read and produce electrical schematics and panel wiring layouts.
• Willingness to work both in the office and on client sites.

Required skills

• PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley) using Ladder Logic, Structured Text or Function Block.
• SCADA platforms and HMI design.
• Fieldbus protocols such as PROFIBUS and Modbus.
• Electrical schematics reading and panel wiring layout design.
• Energy Monitoring Systems implementation.
• Python and C for custom automation scripting.
• Cable management systems and LT panel configurations.
