Aviation Medical Advisor – Islamabad

About the role

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) seeks a qualified Aviation Medical Advisor to ensure that airline personnel meet the required medical standards and remain fit for duty. The role involves conducting medical examinations, issuing certificates, and providing ongoing medical guidance to air crew and flight operations officers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform medical examinations for air crew and flight operations officers during induction and revalidation.
• Maintain daily sick reports, oversee routine vaccinations, and manage fitness records for cockpit and cabin crew.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑flight alcohol breathalyzer checks and random psychoactive drug testing.
• Validate onboard medical kits and ensure proper food handling in flight kitchens.
• Provide medical awareness training and lectures to air crew.
• Prepare and submit regular medical service reports to PCAA, including COVID‑19 protocol compliance.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBChB, MBBS, MD or equivalent) with current registration on a recognized medical board.
• Additional diploma in Aviation Medicine.
• Minimum five years of post‑graduate experience in general practice.
• Prior experience in an aviation medicine environment.
• Membership in recognized medical councils is preferred.
