Backend Engineer – Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core services that power our mobile gaming platform. You will work on high‑impact systems such as rewards, wallets, transactions, and payouts, collaborating closely with senior engineers, product managers, and mobile developers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
• Design APIs and business logic for wallets, rewards, transactions, and other platform features.
• Contribute to ledger and transaction systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Implement payout workflows, handling reconciliation and failure‑recovery scenarios.
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and overall database performance.
• Implement Redis‑based caching and performance improvements.
• Work with background jobs and message queues for asynchronous processing.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices.
• Debug and resolve production issues, improving system reliability.
• Collaborate with mobile, product, and backend teams to define API contracts.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to overall code quality.
• Monitor application performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure system stability.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with NestJS or similar backend frameworks.
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL, including query optimization and transactions.
• Experience with Redis for caching and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with message queues such as Bull, BullMQ, SQS, or Kafka.
• Understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture principles.
• Knowledge of concurrency issues, race conditions, and data consistency.
• Experience with AWS services (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache or similar).
• Proficient with Git workflows and collaborative development.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest or similar frameworks.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
