Barista

About the role

Kopious Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster in Pakistan, is hiring a full-time, on-site Barista in Islamabad. The Barista prepares and serves espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee and other café beverages to a consistent quality, using professional espresso machines and grinders.

Key responsibilities

• Take customer orders, operate the point-of-sale system and handle payments
• Prepare espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee and other café drinks
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and engage guests in a welcoming, professional way
• Provide product information and support an excellent customer experience
• Additional duties may include basic food preparation, restocking supplies, following health and safety guidelines, and helping with coffee tastings or training sessions

Required profile

• Ability to work on-site in Islamabad, including standing for long periods and handling busy service times
• Prior café, coffee shop or hospitality experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Willingness to learn about specialty coffee, attend training and follow standard operating procedures

Required skills

• Strong barista skills: espresso extraction, milk steaming and beverage preparation
• Customer service and interpersonal skills, and clear communication
• Food preparation with attention to hygiene, safety and presentation
• Basic math and cash-handling skills; familiarity with POS systems is an advantage
