Business Manager - Dark Store Operations

About the role

foodpanda, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring a Business Manager in Islamabad to run its 24-hour operational dark store. The post is based on site, with a minimum daily presence of 6-8 hours and continued virtual coordination with the team after hours.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end warehouse processes, from inbound management to stock handling, storage and timely order dispatch.
• Steer warehouse operations to the agreed SLAs and KPIs, and proactively recommend and implement operational goals, objectives and process improvements.
• Manage Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) procedures through periodic safety and health risk assessments, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Allocate resources efficiently through scheduling, and liaise with the commercial department on fast and slow-moving lines, spoilage, wastage, shrinkage, returns, refunds and damaged or expired goods.
• Ensure accurate periodical stock takes, keep physical and system stock variations within acceptable limits, and track stock expiries so that damaged or expired products are not delivered to customers.
• Implement policies, procedures and work standards, coordinate facility maintenance and escalate malfunctions to the Realty Facility Manager, and maintain workplace housekeeping and safety.
• Dispatch orders on time with 100% accuracy and keep good relationships with neighbours, suppliers and foodpanda riders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
• In-depth knowledge of operations and first principles such as supply chain, customer service, JIT and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of local industry legislation and stakeholder management with vendors, neighbours and communities.
• Working knowledge of performance and operation metrics, and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems, demand forecasting and stock replenishment tools.
• Excellent knowledge of manpower planning and scheduling, including off days, leaves and absences.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, with outstanding communication and people skills.
