Category Manager – Sweets & Confectionery

About the role

The Category Manager for Sweets & Confectionery will lead the development and execution of the category strategy across METRO Pakistan's wholesale network. You will be responsible for driving supplier partnerships, expanding product ranges, and delivering growth in sales and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, and resolve escalated issues.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to broaden the product offering.
• Develop and implement customer acquisition strategies, including targeted marketing campaigns and promotions.
• Analyze sales data to spot trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement; track KPIs and report progress.
• Conduct market research on trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform category decisions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop exclusive products or improve existing ones.
• Design and execute pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless product launch and category performance.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in wholesale, retail, or category management.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical capabilities, with a results‑oriented mindset.
