Certified Medical Coder

About the role

CareOnn is seeking a full‑time Certified Medical Coder to join its on‑site team in Faisalabad. The professional will review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures and services in line with established guidelines and payer policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify clinical documentation for completeness and coding accuracy.
• Assign appropriate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes according to guidelines and payer rules.
• Support clean claim submission and help minimize denials.
• Collaborate with physicians, billing teams and other staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding queries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of coding changes, reimbursement rules and regulatory standards.
• Participate in internal audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and training related to coding and documentation.

Required profile

• Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS or equivalent) with strong knowledge of ICD, CPT and HCPCS systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and common clinical procedures.
• Experience with healthcare billing processes, insurance payer rules and claims submission workflows.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing or coding software.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and accuracy in coding.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for teamwork.
• Ability to work on‑site in Faisalabad, manage time efficiently and handle confidential patient information responsibly.
• Prior hospital or clinic coding experience preferred; familiarity with local and international coding standards is a plus.
