Civil Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Structural Engineer/Civil Design Engineer with experience in site and land development projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing construction drawings, grading plans, stormwater management plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and septic system layouts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare site development and engineering drawings for residential and commercial projects, including grading plans and earthwork calculations.
• Design and draft septic system layouts in accordance with local regulations.
• Develop stormwater management plans, drainage layouts, and erosion‑and‑sediment‑control plans with detailed construction specifications.
• Coordinate utility layouts, drainage systems, and site improvements, ensuring compliance with municipal standards.
• Collaborate with architects, surveyors, contractors, and project managers to incorporate client comments and regulatory requirements.
• Support permit applications by preparing technical documentation and reviewing survey data and existing site conditions.
• Maintain organized project documentation, drawing revisions, and ensure all drawings meet local, state, and federal engineering standards.
• Review engineering calculations and design documents for accuracy before final submission.

Required profile

• Experience preparing land development and construction drawings.
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and stormwater design principles.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control regulations.
• Experience designing septic systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret surveys, topographic maps, and construction documents.
