Community Mobilizer – Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG)

About the role

The Community Mobilizer will work at the grassroots level to raise awareness, mitigate risks, and provide support to women and girls affected by violence. This role involves direct engagement with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations to promote survivor‑centred protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular outreach and awareness‑raising activities on protection risks and available response services for women and girls.
• Facilitate individual and small‑group discussions on VAWG topics, mobilising community participation in prevention and risk‑mitigation initiatives.
• Support the distribution of dignity kits where applicable and ensure compassionate, discreet response to disclosures of violence.
• Document community feedback, monitor kit distribution, and track program activities related to prevention and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with community stakeholders, other mobilisers, and outreach teams to strengthen VAWG risk‑mitigation efforts.
• Promote a survivor‑centred approach and represent program standards in all interactions.
• Adhere to security protocols, foster a safe working environment, and uphold the organization’s code of conduct, anti‑harassment, safeguarding, and PSEA policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with community groups.
• Strong commitment to protection and VAWG principles, including equality and survivor‑centred support.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for leading discussions.
• Trusted member of the community.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and the relevant local language.
