Credit Risk Reviewer

About the role

The Credit Risk Reviewer will support the Head of Credit Risk Review in ensuring the bank’s credit risk management processes are robust, compliant and effective. This senior position requires deep analytical expertise and the ability to evaluate complex corporate credit proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the bank’s credit risk management processes.
• Evaluate credit proposals for due diligence, borrower character, management quality, industry fundamentals, financial analysis and repayment capacity.
• Verify that credit facilities are properly structured and that no internal policies or regulatory requirements are breached.
• Monitor the quality of the credit portfolio, recommend improvements, and ensure accurate risk ratings.
• Finalize audit reports within defined timelines and track remediation actions.
• Check compliance with portfolio limits, risk acceptance criteria and risk appetite statements.
• Participate in internal, external and regulatory audits and liaise with risk, compliance and control functions.
• Travel periodically to branch and subsidiary locations as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with senior management and present findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in Credit Risk Management, primarily corporate portfolios.
• At least 3 years in a Credit Risk Review function is preferred.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (Associate/Fellow) or MBA; exceptional candidates may hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (accounting).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
