Data Engineer – Azure Data Factory & Databricks

About the role

Zones is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Azure‑first team. Working under a Senior Data Engineer, you will help build and maintain robust data pipelines and transformations that support the company’s digital infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain batch and incremental pipelines in Azure Data Factory.
• Write transformation notebooks in Azure Databricks using PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Build and optimise Azure SQL queries, tables, and stored procedures.
• Integrate data from REST APIs, Logic Apps, and Function Apps.
• Implement data validation checks and monitor pipeline health.
• Follow data security and governance practices, including PII handling and Key Vault usage.
• Support Power BI dataset refreshes and basic model maintenance.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data‑modeling fundamentals (star/snowflake).
• Exposure to REST API consumption.
• Basic familiarity with Power BI datasets.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
