Data Engineer

About the role

Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. is looking for a hands‑on Data Engineer to design, build and maintain its Medallion Architecture on a MINIO‑based Delta Lake. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end data pipelines that feed analytics, BI and machine‑learning workloads across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage data pipelines for ingestion (Kafka, Sqoop, Trino), transformation (Spark) and enrichment (Delta Lake on MinIO).
• Design, implement and maintain Raw, Curated and Semantic zones following the Medallion Architecture.
• Enable scalable batch and structured‑streaming processing using Apache Spark.
• Implement OLAP columnar data models to optimise BI performance.
• Collaborate with data‑governance teams to ensure data discoverability, quality and cataloguing via OpenMetadata.
• Support federated queries across data zones using Trino.
• Contribute to data‑quality frameworks, lineage tracking and performance tuning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development or related roles.
• Strong experience with SQL development and database optimisation (Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Proficiency in Trino, Sqoop, Delta Lake and MinIO for data processing and storage.
• Hands‑on experience with Python and R for data manipulation and automation.
• Expertise in big‑data technologies, distributed computing frameworks and Tableau for reporting.
• Solid understanding of data‑warehousing concepts, data lakes and cloud storage solutions.
• Knowledge of data‑governance, security and compliance standards.
