Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer will join ieng Group’s data team in Islamabad, designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that feed reporting, analytics and operational systems across the company’s telecom and power infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Build and maintain data warehouses and data models.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and security across multiple sources.
• Collaborate with analytics, operations and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot performance issues and implement improvements.
• Produce reliable datasets and dashboards for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong background in data engineering and data warehousing.
• Proven experience with data modelling and ETL design.
• Practical knowledge of data analytics to support reporting.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with cloud data services (AWS, Azure or GCP) is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and follow data‑governance standards.
• Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent practical experience.
