Data QA Engineer – Remote

About the role

As a Data QA Engineer at Zyte you will ensure that the data delivered by our web‑scraping and AI‑assisted projects meets customer requirements. You will design test approaches, run manual and automated checks, and report data quality metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer scraping and data requirements into clear test plans and own QA from project start.
• Combine exploratory manual/visual testing with automated tests where cost‑effective.
• Run test cycles on extracted data, report results, and write detailed defect tickets.
• Use descriptive statistics, charts and quality scores to show completeness, accuracy, consistency and drift.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify ambiguous requirements before testing begins.
• Contribute to the test automation framework, focusing on coverage and performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience as a QA Engineer or similar role testing software or data.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented professional with strong ownership of project quality.
• Fast learner able to understand complex domain requirements and adopt new technologies quickly.
• Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).

Required skills

• Python (including Pandas and Jupyter for data analysis).
• SQL – basic to intermediate queries and familiarity with relational databases.
• Web technologies: HTML, XPath, JSON, HTTP, CSS.
• Testing HTTP/REST APIs.
• Use of AI/LLM tools for test case generation and data validation.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks.
