Data Science and AI Research Analyst

About the role

The Pakistan Footwear Manufactures Association (PFMA) is hiring a Data Science and AI Research Analyst in Lahore. The role uses advanced data science techniques and artificial intelligence to turn complex data into insights that support the footwear manufacturing sector in Pakistan. It covers collecting, analysing and interpreting data to guide strategy and research, and the analyst works independently, as team management is not part of the position.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean and preprocess complex datasets from sources related to the footwear manufacturing industry.
• Develop and run statistical models and machine learning algorithms to interpret data and forecast industry trends.
• Use Python and SQL to manipulate data, run queries and automate data tasks.
• Create dashboards and reports in Power BI to share findings with stakeholders.
• Carry out economic analysis and research on market dynamics affecting the footwear sector.
• Collaborate with industry experts and researchers to align insights with organisational goals.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models for accuracy and reliability.
• Keep up with advances in data science, AI and industry developments, and support strategic planning with actionable insights.
• Ensure data integrity, security and confidentiality in all research work.

Required profile

• Graduate from a university such as LSE, NUST or a comparable institution.
• At least two years of experience in research-oriented data analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking, research skills and domain knowledge in economics.
