Inside Solutions Architect II Datacenter (Remote)

About the role

A multinational IT services company is hiring a remote Inside Solutions Architect II (Datacenter). The role leads consultative discovery of clients' business goals, technical requirements and operational challenges, then turns them into scalable, supportable server, compute, converged infrastructure and datacenter solutions. It acts as a trusted advisor to customers, account executives and internal stakeholders, combining technical knowledge with business acumen.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions covering business objectives, current infrastructure, data growth, availability, recovery, security and constraints.
• Design and recommend server, compute, converged and hyperconverged infrastructure, power and cooling, and hybrid datacenter solutions.
• Partner with sales teams to qualify opportunities, address concerns and advance deals through the sales cycle.
• Create and validate Bills of Materials, technical proposals, solution diagrams, quotes and supporting documentation.
• Serve as subject matter expert on rack and blade servers, sizing, converged infrastructure, power and cooling, physical datacenter design and hybrid cloud integration.
• Deliver presentations, demos, workshops, assessments and architecture reviews.
• Review designs, configurations, licensing, support requirements and quotes for technical accuracy.
• Identify upsell, cross-sell, lifecycle refresh, consolidation, professional services and managed services opportunities.
• Mentor ISA-I resources and maintain knowledge of industry trends, vendor programs and product roadmaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, MIS or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least one major vendor certification in server, compute, datacenter, hyperconverged infrastructure, power and cooling or hybrid cloud; preferred credentials from Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Nutanix, NVIDIA, Vertiv, APC, Microsoft, AWS or others.
• Minimum 6 years in IT infrastructure, server, compute, datacenter implementation, engineering, architecture or technical support.
• Minimum 4 years in a field- or customer-facing presales, sales engineering, consulting or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience designing server, compute and datacenter solutions across multiple vendors.

Required skills

• Server, compute and datacenter technologies, including rack and blade systems, processor and memory sizing, virtualization dependencies and consumption models.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and executive audiences.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, and ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
