Database Administrator

About the role

Nayatel is seeking a proactive Database Administrator to independently install, configure, manage and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL environments. You will work in a Linux‑based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and performance of critical data services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, install and configure PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL database systems.
• Manage database users, roles and permissions.
• Implement and maintain PostgreSQL streaming replication and hot standby.
• Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard (active/standby).
• Perform backup and recovery using pg_dump, pg_basebackup, pg_fdw, RMAN and Data Pump.
• Execute failover and switchover procedures.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, indexes and configuration settings.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for reporting and analysis.
• Ensure database security, integrity and high availability.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as vacuuming, reindexing and statistics updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience with relational databases.
• Understanding of database design, modelling and NoSQL concepts.
