Deputy General Manager – Business Finance (Fuel Budgeting & Reporting)

About the role

The Deputy General Manager Business Finance will partner with the Fuel function to secure and manage fuel supply for power projects. This senior finance role involves negotiating with key vendors, overseeing contract compliance, and providing rigorous financial analysis to support investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Finance partnering for fuel supply, negotiating with vendors such as PLL, PSO, BYCO and SSGC.
• Manage the financial aspects of RLNG, FO, Gas and High Speed Diesel procurement in line with NEPRA directives.
• Lead RLNG Tranche‑B procurement, RFP preparation, bidder clarification, bid evaluation and finalisation of HoA/FSA/GSA contracts.
• Oversee turnkey fuel supply contracts, variations, renewals and amendments.
• Prepare detailed financial models (NPV, IRR, payback, O&M analysis) to support high‑budget project decisions.
• Provide contract risk analysis, economic viability reports and data‑driven storytelling for leadership approval.
• Supervise fuel budget control, requisition‑to‑pay process and budget preparation in SAP.
• Establish robust reporting mechanisms for budget monitoring and stakeholder visibility.

Required profile

• Professional qualification with 4‑7 years post‑qualification experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the energy or fuel sector, specifically in contract management, fuel supply management, financial modelling and data analysis.
• Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders while adhering to financial mandates and SOPs.
