Director of Cloud Architecture & Platform Management

About the role

Our client, Agay Barho, is seeking a senior technology leader to oversee the design, deployment and ongoing management of both public and private cloud platforms in Islamabad. The Director will act as the principal subject‑matter expert, guiding cloud strategy, ensuring security, compliance and high availability across the organization’s virtualised infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and define cloud architecture for new and existing services aligned with business requirements.
• Develop and deliver best‑practice recommendations, tutorials and technical presentations for diverse stakeholders.
• Provide expert implementation support and advise on cross‑product integration feasibility.
• Deploy and orchestrate container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to support application lifecycles.
• Manage AWS and Azure public‑cloud platforms, covering both IaaS and PaaS offerings.
• Establish cloud‑platform best practices and act as a mentor for engineering teams.
• Oversee network and cloud‑account security, billing, tagging and governance.
• Administer, monitor and upgrade virtualised compute environments, including VMware ESXi.
• Maintain production uptime, participate in on‑call support and ensure audit‑ready build and deployment processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure management.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives without direct line‑management responsibility.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
