Director of Internet Governance

About the role

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) seeks a dynamic professional to lead Pakistan's Internet Governance strategy. The Director will shape national policies, represent Pakistan at key international forums, and drive capacity‑building initiatives across the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement national Internet Governance policies.
• Represent Pakistan at IGF, ICANN, APNIC, APRIGF and other international platforms.
• Design and manage capacity‑building programmes for stakeholders.
• Coordinate multi‑stakeholder engagement with government, private sector, academia, civil society, ISPs and technical communities.
• Research emerging trends and provide policy recommendations.
• Advocate Pakistan’s interests in international discussions.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Member Digital & Emerging Tech.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, International Relations, Business Administration, Law, Telecommunications or a related ICT discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Internet policy, Internet Governance, telecommunications or participation in relevant international/regional forums.
• Proven experience in policy development, stakeholder coordination and capacity‑building initiatives.
