Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinator (Islamabad)

About the role

The Relief & Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Coordinator will provide technical, operational and coordination leadership for Qatar Charity’s humanitarian programmes in Pakistan. Based in Islamabad, the role ensures that relief, emergency response, disaster preparedness, DRR and recovery interventions are designed and delivered in line with organisational strategy, donor commitments and national disaster management frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning and technical development of relief, emergency response, DRR and resilience projects.
• Prepare detailed implementation, procurement, distribution and contingency plans.
• Conduct rapid needs, vulnerability, hazard‑risk and damage assessments, as well as baseline surveys and beneficiary verification.
• Analyse disaster trends, community vulnerabilities and climate‑related risks to inform programme design.
• Develop concept notes, proposals, logical frameworks, budgets and donor submissions.
• Ensure compliance with donor agreements, humanitarian principles, national regulations and organisational policies.
• Coordinate with government authorities, partners, and internal teams for effective implementation.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, reporting, quality assurance and risk management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian relief and disaster risk reduction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of national and provincial disaster management frameworks in Pakistan.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders and deliver results on short notice.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills.
