Driller and Tool Pusher

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Driller and Tool Pusher to safely operate and supervise drilling activities on our rig. The role involves managing the rig floor crew, maintaining well control, and ensuring efficient drilling operations in line with company policies and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the drilling rig according to the approved drilling program.
• Supervise all drilling operations during the assigned shift.
• Maintain continuous well control and respond immediately to abnormal well conditions.
• Monitor drilling parameters such as weight on bit, rotary speed, torque, standpipe pressure, pump pressure, flow rate and rate of penetration.
• Coordinate tripping, casing running, cementing, directional drilling, fishing, coring, logging and other well operations.
• Ensure all drilling equipment operates within safe limits and conduct pre‑job safety meetings.
• Verify BOP and well‑control equipment are maintained, tested and ready for use; participate in BOP drills.
• Maintain accurate drilling records, daily reports and operational logs.
• Monitor mud properties in coordination with the mud engineer and report abnormalities.
• Report equipment failures, oversee preventive maintenance and ensure safe lifting and pipe‑handling activities.
• Mentor and train assistant drillers, derrickmen and floormen.
• Suspend any unsafe work and initiate emergency well‑control actions when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate (Supervisor level).
• Relevant drilling industry certifications as required by company policy.
• Knowledge of applicable HSE standards and company procedures.
