Electrical Design Engineer (R&D) – Energy Meter Testing

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Electrical Design Engineer (R&D) to join our digital meters manufacturing team at our Sundar Estates facility. The role focuses on testing, evaluating and validating energy meters against WAPDA, IEC and ANSI standards, supporting product development from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional, environmental, accuracy, mechanical and electrical tests on energy meters according to WAPDA, IEC and company specifications.
• Analyze meter performance under varying load, voltage and environmental conditions and validate firmware and hardware.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to identify issues, propose solutions and validate design changes.
• Document test results, prepare technical reports and maintain accurate testing records for quality assurance.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment such as reference meters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers and environmental chambers.
• Liaise with firmware, hardware, quality and production teams to resolve technical issues and support field troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (B.E./BS).
• 1‑2 years of experience in electrical/electronic design, testing or meter development.
• Strong understanding of electrical measurements, circuits and power systems.
• Familiarity with WAPDA, IEC and ANSI metering standards.

Required skills

• Electrical measurements and power system analysis.
• Use of lab instruments: multimeters, power sources, oscilloscopes, power analyzers.
• Energy meter type‑testing and validation.
• Basic knowledge of embedded systems, firmware and communication protocols.
