Estimator

About the role

SK Associates, a construction and engineering firm founded in 2005, is hiring a full-time, on-site Estimator in Karachi. The Estimator reviews drawings, specifications and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment and subcontracted work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed bid documents and cost breakdowns.
• Request and analyse vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to refine estimates, support budget development and explore value engineering options.
• Maintain and update cost databases and track market pricing trends.
• Support post-bid negotiations and clarifications to ensure competitive and realistic project pricing.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field is advantageous.
• Prior experience in estimating for construction or engineering projects is preferred; experience in a similar Estimator or Quantity Surveyor role is an asset.
• Ability to work on-site in Karachi, in a team environment, and to uphold ethical and non-discriminatory professional standards.

Required skills

• Quantity take-offs, cost analysis and budgeting.
• Proficiency with estimation and spreadsheet software such as MS Excel and cost estimation tools.
• Basic CAD or drawing review skills.
• Attention to detail, organisation and effective communication with internal teams, vendors and subcontractors.
