Export and Guarantees Manager

About the role

The Export and Guarantees Manager oversees all export trade finance operations and bank guarantee activities, ensuring compliance with international trade rules and internal policies. This role combines operational oversight, risk management, and high‑level customer service for corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end export trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, documentary collections and export bills.
• Review export documents for compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522 and related regulations.
• Process export payments, negotiations, discounting, reimbursements and settlements, and handle secondary‑market transactions such as MRPA and FI‑Transactions.
• Coordinate with correspondent banks, customers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and meet service‑level agreements.
• Issue, amend, extend, cancel and settle bank guarantees and standby letters of credit, ensuring compliance with URDG 758 and ISP98.
• Monitor guarantee expiries, claims, commissions and collateral requirements.
• Ensure AML, KYC and sanctions‑screening compliance, identify operational risks and support internal and external audits.
• Supervise and mentor the export and guarantees operations team, allocate workloads and conduct performance reviews.
• Prepare operational, regulatory and management reports, track KPIs and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Proven experience in export trade finance and guarantee operations.
• Strong knowledge of international trade documentation and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, URDG 758 and ISP98.
• Familiarity with AML, KYC and sanctions‑screening procedures.
• Experience with export letters of credit, documentary collections and bank guarantees.
