Founding Engineer (AI and Full Stack)

About the role

Snedger is building an AI‑powered bookkeeping platform that merges software automation with human accountants. As a Founding Engineer you will work directly with the founder to shape the product, architecture, and technical direction from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop frontend and backend systems using React, TypeScript, Python and FastAPI.
• Create scalable product architecture and convert business requirements into production‑ready features.
• Integrate AI workflows, LLMs and self‑hosted models; build automation with tools like n8n.
• Implement user authentication, document upload, OCR, accounting software integrations (initially Xero), billing and subscription features.
• Maintain code quality, address technical debt, improve reliability and scalability, and establish engineering processes.

Required profile

• Full‑stack development experience with strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Python skills.
• Proven ability to build and consume APIs and work with databases.
• Independent, ownership‑mindset with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; capable of communicating with customers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI APIs, LLM‑powered applications, and workflow automation tools.
