General Manager – Power & Utilities

About the role

The General Manager – Power & Utilities will lead all power generation, electrical distribution, and utility functions for a large industrial plant in Sheikhupura, Punjab. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause analysis of equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions to improve OEE.
• Oversee power generation assets, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and distribution networks.
• Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
• Manage plant shutdowns, commissioning, capacity expansion, and modernization projects.
• Drive energy‑optimization initiatives, loss reduction, and cost‑control measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed performance, reliability, and cost reports for senior management.
• Develop and manage annual operating and CAPEX budgets.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in power generation, utilities, or industrial plant operations.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale projects, shutdowns, and expansions.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in root‑cause analysis and equipment reliability improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and HSE teams.

Required skills

• Power generation systems (BESS, solar, gas engines, diesel generators, gas turbines, cogeneration plants).
• Electrical infrastructure (substations, transformers, switchgear, protection and relay coordination).
• Industrial automation (VFDs), power quality analysis, harmonic mitigation.
• Preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance methodologies.
• Energy management and utility optimization.
• Project execution, commissioning, and plant expansion.
