Head Nurse – Adult Medical Ward

About the role

The Aga Khan University Hospital is seeking an experienced Head Nurse to lead its Adult Medical Ward. This senior nursing position focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care while driving continuous improvement across a 24/7 operation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to improve clinical outcomes and overall patient care quality.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless 24/7 service delivery.
• Promote continuous quality improvement initiatives within the ward.
• Support staff development and professional growth for all nursing personnel.
• Manage human and material resources efficiently to maintain a motivated, high‑performing team.

Required profile

• BScN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Valid license from the Pakistan Nursing Council.
• Minimum four years of relevant nursing experience, including at least two years in a management role.
• Certifications in CPR, Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts (morning, evening, night).
