Head of Engineering, Rewards

About the role

Moniepoint is building a strategic Rewards platform that will drive retention and engagement for millions of users. As Head of Engineering you will own the end‑to‑end technical vision, improve the existing cashback product and expand the platform into a full‑featured rewards, loyalty and personalization solution.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards platform.
• Improve performance, reliability and depth of the current cashback product as an immediate priority.
• Scale the engineering organisation from a team of nine to multiple product units (25+ engineers) by hiring and developing engineering managers.
• Establish a strong experimentation culture with A/B testing, cohort analysis and rapid learning loops.
• Collaborate with Growth, Sales and Marketing to translate acquisition and retention goals into engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
• Proven track record building and shipping direct‑to‑consumer products at scale.
• Hands‑on technical leadership with regular coding involvement.
• Experience managing managers and scaling engineering organisations.
• Strong collaboration with commercial stakeholders to turn business objectives into technical work.

Required skills

• Front‑end and mobile development expertise (web and mobile consumer experiences).
• Backend experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experimentation and growth engineering: A/B testing, feature flagging, measurement frameworks.
• Architecture design, engineering processes and quality metrics.
