Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

About the role

Moniepoint Inc., Africa's all-in-one financial platform, is looking for a Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to lead its POS Hardware and Device Platforms in Pakistan. The unit owns the software that tracks, moves, maintains and accounts for millions of POS terminals, covering inventory and warehouse management, logistics and distribution, repair and maintenance workflows and daily operational tooling. The role leads the technical strategy and manages a large engineering organisation in a remote, distributed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics tools and repair management software.
• Lead an engineering organisation of around 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and Data Engineering.
• Drive platformisation of inventory and supply chain systems so operational data is visible, trustworthy and consistent across millions of terminals.
• Build operationally disciplined solutions that bridge operational practice and software systems.
• Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics across squads.
• Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to turn their requirements into engineering solutions.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support team growth up to 30+ members.

Required profile

• 10-15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
• At least 5 years of hands-on, production-level Java development.
• At least 5 years managing managers and leading engineering organisations through other engineering leaders.
• Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse or logistics software at scale.
• Fintech or regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of device management in a payments environment.
• Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams of 20 or more members.

Required skills

• Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems.
• Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.
• Excellent stakeholder management and a product-minded approach to operational problems.
