Head of Legal

About the role

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Legal to lead the legal function of a leading bank. The role provides strategic counsel to senior management, oversees contractual and litigation matters, supports digital banking initiatives, and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations while facilitating business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bank’s legal function and overall legal strategy.
• Provide legal advice to the Board, executive management, and business units.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and commercial agreements.
• Advise on banking, regulatory, corporate, employment, technology, and commercial legal matters.
• Oversee litigation, disputes, claims, and all legal proceedings.
• Support product development and digital banking projects from a legal perspective.
• Liaise with SBP, SECP, CDC, external counsel and other regulatory authorities.
• Lead legal risk management and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Required profile

• LLB from an HEC‑recognized or reputable foreign university; LLM or Bar‑at‑Law preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant legal experience, with significant exposure to banking, financial services, fintech or other regulated industries.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior leadership and boards on complex legal and regulatory issues.
