Head of Systems

About the role

The Head of Systems leads CC Moneybase’s entire infrastructure, covering cloud, on‑premises systems, networks and corporate IT. This senior position combines strategic direction with hands‑on technical work, ensuring reliability, security and resilience as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the infrastructure roadmap aligned with the CEO, focusing on modernisation, automation, resilience and cost optimisation.
• Own the infrastructure budget, licences, vendor relationships and cost management.
• Lead, coach and develop the IT Systems Manager and two systems engineers, building a culture of ownership and documentation.
• Manage Microsoft Azure estate (VMs, networking, storage, Entra ID, governance) and drive cost optimisation.
• Oversee VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter, including VM lifecycle, performance monitoring and patching.
• Maintain and secure Linux servers across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Direct corporate IT services, end‑user computing, identity and access management, and endpoint management using Microsoft Intune, 365 and Entra ID.
• Ensure infrastructure availability, backup and disaster recovery, and provide evidence of resilience to risk and compliance teams.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible and automate routine tasks.
• Evaluate and deploy AI‑driven security and monitoring tools across Azure, VMware, Linux, Windows and network layers.

Required profile

• 8+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering, with at least 3 years leading a team.
• Deep, hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, Entra ID, governance, cost management).
• Strong production experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
• Confident Linux administration and working knowledge of Windows Server.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate or equivalent next‑generation firewall and high‑availability load balancers.
• Proven track record implementing Infrastructure as Code in production.
• Experience running corporate IT services, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
